2014 - Off to a good start!
The fellowship and love of Buffalo Baptist Church can be seen in pictures that say 1,000 words or more. Since the beginning of the year we have shared in worship times that uplift the name of Jesus. We have shared the love of couples as God intended couples to be with our Valentines Banquet. The banquet was catered by Back Home Catering of Elizabethtown; we want to say thank your for such a wonderful job. Some of our people have shared in Disaster Relief training, preparing ourselves to engage when disaster hit our community and our nation. Our men have also come together and shared in prayer and God's word during our Men's Prayer Breakfast which meets every 1st Saturday of the month.
This year our teens went to the University of the Cumberlands to work in missions. Our teens woke up to a morning quiet time followed by breakfast. After breakfast the youth went to their track teams and had Bible study together. After that they were released to go to send off which consisted of both fun and worship. From there they went to their ministry sites from 10:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m. each day. As they returned to campus they had a little free time. Each evening, the teens would then meet back up for a time of worship and a sermon by the camp minister. To end the evening, they staff would have some kind of fun games planned for the kids. All in all, each day was packed full.
We had three teens commit their lives to Christ as Lord and Savior. We also had one recommit his life saying it had been a long time since he had walked closely with God.
Lighthouse Restaurant in Sulfur Wells
On September 11, 2014, we took a bus load of people to the Lighthouse Restaurant in Sulfur Wells, Kentucky. There we shared in a wonderful time of getting to know each other in a better way. There is nothing like sitting around the dinner table and talking.
The table was abuzz with wonderful conversation but when the food arrived, it got a little quieter as we passed around the fried chicken, catfish, and country ham.
What a blessing it was to be a part of this wonderful night.
Men's Prayer Breakfast - November 2014
2014 VBS - Agency D3
This year's VBS was a success. Our numbers were not what we were looking for, however, the one on one interaction proved to be more valuable. Each kid left with the basics of who Jesus is. They learned that Jesus was more than just a good man. That He was God's Son. They also learned about His death and resurrection. And as they ended the week the were challenged to go and share what they had learned.
We thank God for His blessings and what this week of VBS meant to us as a body of believers. We also pray that God would get a hold of these kids and change their lives forever.
It is my pleasure to welcome Travis Ward and Jeff Johnson into the deacon ministry here at Buffalo Baptist Church. They were ordained on June 1st and are ready to serve.
Please keep these men in your prayers as they begin this ministry. Satan will attempt to deceive and destroy these men; they need God's protection.
Trunk or Treat - 2014
This year's trunk or treat was bigger than we expected as the wind blew, the rain fell, and the temperatures dropped. But, since we moved everything inside, we were the place to be.
We were able register 230+ people through the night. And everyone who walked through our doors were able to enjoy treats, soups, chili, and hotdogs. Not only did they get their bellies full, they were presented, in one way or another, the gospel truth of our Lord, Jesus Christ.
Thank you for all who pulled this ministry together but thank you even more to those who came through allowing us to be a part of your lives.
